Help Archipelago Books!

Hello loyal readers and new-found friends!

Some of you may recall a video we posted on this blog about our new World Literature/Translated Literature section in the store. In that video, Monica mentions Archipelago Books, one of her favorite independent presses.

Last week, Publishers Weekly announced that "Nonprofit Archipelago Books Needs Help!"

Today, Blake Butler, author of Ever(Calamari Press), posted this video on HTMLGIANT. It features Attila Bartis, whose book Tranquility was put out by Archipelago Books. It also features Brian Evenson, whose new book Fugue State(Coffee House Press) is on my nightstand.

While you could get all of these books at Skylight Books, where we try to cater to all your independent press needs, what we'd really like to encourage you to do today is to go browse and purchase a few books directly from Archipelago, through their website. It is just a small way to try to help them out in these troubled times.
